Engraving Plus FAQ's

Can Engraving Plus engrave images and computer fonts?
Yes! We can engrave images and any computer font. We can even engrave languages other than English and special characters, such as the Chinese Double Happiness symbol.

Can Engraving Plus engrave my image?

Yes! We can usually engrave an image you supply. We prefer EPS, JPG or BMP format, black and white, and a minimum of 300 dpi for best engraving results. A one-off charge of $19.95 is normally applied to digitise, store and engrave your image the first time. Subsequent orders are then only $9.95 for engraving your image (unless the image is very large in which we will advise any further charges that may be due prior to processing your order). Please note; when supplying an image or text to be engraved, you agree that you are authorised to do so (please refer to our “Terms of Use” policy for further clarification about Supplied Logo and / or Text for Engraving).

 

Can Engraving Plus engrave my own item/s?

Yes! We may be able to engrave your item/s. First email us with information about your item, details (what it is made of is particularly important) and images, and we will provide you with a quote and further details. We will not usually be able to advise over the phone if your product is suitable for our engraving machines, or provide a quotation, as images of the product will normally be required to discuss suitability and engraving placement. Our current machine inventory is not capable of engraving Sterling Silver or Gold.

 

What if I don’t see what I am searching for on your website?

Our website does not showcase our full range of products accessible through our suppliers, so please don’t hesitate to email us for further assistance. We quite often complete orders for items that are not even seen on our website. We add new products to our site all the time, building the website and range is an ongoing process.

 

I have a unique idea and was wondering if Engraving Plus complete custom orders?

Absolutely! We welcome unique and custom orders and thoroughly enjoy an exciting new challenge. Send us an email with information and images/diagrams and we will assist you any way we can with your project. If it turns out we can’t help with your particular needs, in most cases we are able to refer you on to another reputable business who can.

 

What is a “Digital Engraving Layout” and why does Engraving Plus offer this service?

A digital engraving layout is an image created from a photograph or computer drawn diagram of the item to be engraved, with an overlay of the text and/or images as ordered. It is a representation of the positioning of the engraving provided for your viewing and approval prior to commencement of engraving the actual item. We provide this service to assist in the clear communication of how you would like your engraving to look on the finished product. One digital engraving layout is normally provided per product type of similar engraving. We also welcome any adjustments to be made to the layout or fonts after you have viewed a digital engraving layout, to ensure you receive exactly what you want. Some of our products not only feature photographs of actual engraved items from previous customer orders, but we also occasionally include some digital engraving layouts for examples of other engraving layout possibilities to help inspire design ideas.

 

What does the “Base Price” include?

The majority of our “Base Prices” include at least 1 FREE line of text engraving, and sometimes more (the product page will individually provide more details about what is included in the base price). More engraving is available for ordering thereafter. For some items, such as toasting glasses, the “Base Price” is for supply of the item without any engraving, there is then the option to order engraving at a flat charge from the “Engraved Quantity Ordering” dropdown selection bar. We provide the option of no engraving for these types of items as some orders do not require engraving for them and we like to be able to cater for these orders also.

 

Why can’t I “Register” on the Log In page?

There is no need to register prior to purchasing from our site. The pre “Register” feature has been purposely disabled to reduce non-active created registrations. Your account will automatically register during the checkout procedure, and you can then also create your very own Username and Password.

What if I don’t want to pay by Credit Card on the website? There are no bank account details or information for me to pay for my order?

Money Order or Direct Deposit are also acceptable methods of payment. If you select "Cash in Advance" as your method of payment at the checkout, we will send you an email with our Bank Account details for Direct Deposit payment, and also a Credit Card Authorisation Form {if you do not wish to provide your credit card details over the internet}. We email these details after receiving your order just incase any adjustments to the delivery charges or overall order are required prior to the payment being made. This reduces the confusion of refunds or additional payment requirements.

 

How long will my order take?

Most orders are despatched within 5 to 10 business days, though bulk orders may take up to 15 business days to despatch. Chocolates and almonds may also take between 5 to 10 business days as these are ordered in especially for your order to ensure they are the freshest they can be, direct from the manufacturer. Invitations and stationery may take longer depending on the design, and we will usually require 3 to 12 weeks for full production, depending on quantity and/or intricacy {from final approvals and payment received. Wedding and Holiday Seasons may increase lead times for invitations and stationery items}. If you require your order earlier than our advised standard lead times, please ensure to let us know in your order comments or feel free to call or email us to check first if you wish. We will do everything we can to assist with your delivery requirements {priority orders are available on application, and may incur additional fees if after hours work will be required to meet your needs}. We also make sure to keep you fully updated with scheduled engraving and/or despatch times throughout the ordering process.

 

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery within Australia will normally be via Courier or Australia Post. Freight options are offered on checkout based on the delivery address. As our website is not setup to automatically calculate delivery fees (as we have found this to be inaccurate in the past), if the delivery option selected will not suit or fit the items/s purchased, we will contact you with suitable options for your consideration within up to 1 business day.

If you are unsure which delivery option to select on checkout, or delivery required is outside of Australia, simply select "PLEASE QUOTE" and we will contact you with suitable options for your consideration.

Larger orders may be sent in a large parcel, or multiple parcels via a Courier or Australia Post and will incur further delivery charges. Any such required adjustment will be communicated to you prior to despatching your order and charging you. If you do not agree to the additional delivery charges, you may cancel your order.

You are welcome to organise your own courier for collection (protective packaging fees may apply, and will be advised to you on application), or to pick up your order from O'Connor WA address (by appointment/on request).

If we are advised by you that your order is urgent, we may also suggest Express Post delivery option, or a faster delivery service for fastest delivery timing. If approved by you, the delivery charge will be adjusted to the new express post/fast delivery charge when we manually process the payment for your order in our studio. Our standard lead time of 5 to 10 business days for order despatch will still apply, unless earlier despatch timing is requested and available.

Why do Engraving Plus choose to manually calculate bulk delivery charges, and not use an automatic delivery calculator?

We did have an automatic delivery calculator on our website, but made the decision to remove it after discovering it was grossly overcharging delivery prices. Each bulk order is manually calculated in our studio for delivery charges, and we also offer Courier services as a delivery option where the pricing is competitive. Infact, we have found that around 80% of the time, bulk delivery charges via our Courier calculate to around 30% cheaper than Australia Post. Well worth our time to manually explore better delivery options and pricing for you! 

 

Can Engraving Plus group deliver my orders?

If you have already placed an order and wish to place another, but want to ensure they are all sent at once with 1 grouped delivery cost, you are welcome to do so. Please ensure you notify us in writing, of your order numbers as soon as possible, to avoid an earlier dispatch of any of your orders separately. If we have already despatched or packed and sealed any of your orders, group despatch will not be accepted for these items.

I placed my order a few days ago but haven't received any contact from Engraving Plus?
Please check your "Spam" or "Junk" folders, this is usually the reason why it may appear you have not received a response from us. Also, double check the email address you have provided during checkout is correct, as this is the address we send all correspondence to. If you have requested a digital engraving layout, please note these may take up to 2 business days, as advised on the ordering pages. Please take into account Public Holidays and Weekends as we like to spend valuable time with our families during these times wherever possible. And, email us any time.

Do you send your products outside of Australia?
Yes! We send many of our products outside of Australia, subject to Import Restrictions and Prohibitions as per International Australia Post guidelines. If for any reason an order cannot be sent to an overseas destination as ordered, we will be sure to notify you as soon as possible. Food items cannot be sent outside of Australia. Most glass items will not be distributed overseas due to their fragile nature.
